Effective distance
The effective distance between the probes counts lattice steps and hops across loops (across a chain of loops side by side, a hop per loop and the junctions free), each 1, and is checked every time unit of simulation time. While it's at most the threshold, the probes are in an encounter; each encounter's duration is added to the histogram when it ends. Beside the kymograph, on the same rows, the distance runs from 0 up to the probes' separation (which it never exceeds), with the threshold as a dotted line. Moving a probe or the threshold starts the statistics afresh; changes to the model don't, so press Reset to see only the new model. A leg meeting a CTCF from behind may be evicted, which unloads its LEF at once; a leg whose partner is captured is immune.
